MEMPHIS, TN - Jan 2008: Variety launched the Mobility Program and has donated eight (8) All Court Basketball Wheelchairs (valued at $20,000) to MidSouth Adaptive Sports & Recreation Team, Inc. Children joining the MASR Team program Variety is funding equipment for are also being referred by Le Bonheur Children Medical Centers’ Safe Kids Program. The donation was made possible through Variety ongoing fundraising efforts which has helped bring wheelchair basketball to the Mid-South with kids coming from as far away as Senatobia, MS and Trenton, TN to shoot some hoops!

Please consider the supporting the athletic chairs, track walkers and/or track trike’s needed. No donation is to small to help make physically challenged children finally be able to become active and mobile. The smiles are endless too!

$2400 Basketball Wheelchair package sponsorship includes the purchase, delivery and set-up of the sports wheelchair and photo opportunity for the company for each purchased with the child recipient.

Also included is a one year Variety Club complimentary membership which gives the sponsor the use of the private club headquarters at the membership low rate. Available for business seminars, business luncheons, private gatherings or parties based on availability. Seating up to 120. Very reasonable catering rates or supply your own catering.

Overhead projector screen 5’ x 8’ available and 5 television satellite monitors.

$3400 Wild Game Dinner package sponsorship same package as above but also includes evening’s dinner and entertainment and table of 10 to the March 1^st event. Includes special hotel overnight rate of $59 per room at the Grand Casino’s Veranda Hotel for the Variety Wild Game Dinner guest.

PHOTOS:The children photographed are of MASR Team, the sports program organizers. The purchase of the basketball wheelchairs and other needed sports equipment is being done through the ongoing fundraising efforts of the Variety Mobility Program. There are approximately 6800 children in the Mid-South Area that could benefit from this program. Variety, LeBonheur Safe Kids Program & MASR Team have joined forces to help kids that want to play like other kids have the opportunity to do so. The equipment needed is not covered by health insurance or government agencies . Variety cannot do this along and needs your help. Please consider donating towards this program or purchasing one chair a year!
